Rice Bran Oil
LJS uses only the best cholesterol FREE pure Rice Bran oil to cook all of our chips and seafood products. Rice Bran Oil boasts one of the lowest saturated fat content of any cooking oil and has the best balance of all the unsaturated fats and, as such, is the healthiest choice of any of the common cooking oils. Being a liquid oil, it also has the advantage that it is released from the product onto the plate after cooking, so that only a small amount of oil is actually consumed with the product.

LJS Top Quality Fish
It is a proven fact that fish is one of the few sources of Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty-acid proteins (fats) that the human body actually requires for good health. All fish used at LJS is 100% fish fillet, there is no shark, reconstituted or processed fish used at all. Fish is cooked in a very light 15 % batter to ensure the full taste of the unique and different types of fish comes though, not just the batter!
LJS proudly uses Sealord Hoki, caught, processed and snap-frozen within 20 minutes right on-board the deep-sea factory boats, and supplied direct to the LJS distributors. By the time your Hoki arrives cooked on your plate you could argue that it is less than 20 minutes fresh from the ocean!

LJS Great Tasting Chips
LJS proudly uses only McCain Freeze Chill 13mm chips in all of our meals. 13mm chips have a much lower surface area to size ratio than the traditional “shoestring” fries used by most of the international fast food brands, and are proven to absorb much less cooking oil. These chips come from McCain’s “pick of the crop” specially grown South Island potatoes to ensure year-round quality. Because LJS chips contain no animal products or fats they are Halal certified by the NZ Islamic Meat Management Council. LJS chips are lightly dusted with our special lemon-pepper seasoning to give them a great zesty flavour.
